Natural ingredients for effective disease and pest management through biocontrol

Bio stimulates, plant amendments or biological controls (biocontrols) are active ingredients that are added to Vectorite™ within Vectorpaks™ and this single or stackable powder mixture is what bees pick up on their way out of the hive and deliver to plants. A biocontrol with multiple other active ingredients can also be delivered simultaneously.

BVT-CR7 biocontrol

Our patent pending biocontrol, BVT-CR7 is an organic strain of a natural occurring fungus. Commonly found in a large diversity of plants and soils all around the world, BVT’s selected strain of fungus grows harmlessly in plant tissue. It has not been genetically modified or altered in any way which causes an induced systemic response. It does not cause disease or substances toxic to plant tissue. Bees and plants are well accustomed to this kind of fungus and it is harmless to humans. After delivery by the bees to the crops it dies out naturally within 24-48 hours if it is unable to find suitable host plants.

• Controls diseases and increases resistance
  BVT-CR7 is able to control numerous diseases in a plant but is especially effective for controlling those caused by fungal pathogens, such as Botrytis and Sclerotinia. It also helps the plant increase its resistance to diseases and environmental stresses, therefore preventing Botrytis and Sclerotinia development.
• Enhances plant growth
  BVT-CR7 enhances plant growth by organically increasing nutritional uptake, improving root size and structure, improving vegetative growth and size of plants, and increasing the number of flowers and flower size. With stronger and healthier plans, the reward is greater quantities of healthy fruits or berries.
• More convenient than pesticide spraying
  BVT-CR7 has no re-entry issues (i.e. the time that workers have to be excluded from the greenhouse to allow conventional pesticides to dissipate), it can be used up to the day of harvest, it’s organic, and its beneficial effects last longer than traditional chemical fungicides.
• Longer shelf life
  Berries developed from BVT-CR7 treated flowers have natural built-in protection against diseases and consequently last longer and have a longer shelf life. This gives growers additional valuable time to get the fruit to market and consumers more time to enjoy the pesticide-free or organic fruit.

Beauveria bassiana

Used to control a variety of insect pests, beauveria bassiana can help plants combat termites, thrips, white flies, aphids and different beetles.

Streptomycin

Used to combat the growth of bacterial and fungal diseases of certain fruit, vegetables and seed, streptomycin is especially helpful for controlling fire blight on apple and pear trees.

Bacillus thuringiensis

Spores and crystalline insecticidal proteins produced by bacillus thuringiensis are used to control insect pests in plants.
